Our protest on March 27

March 6, 2009 at 7:41 am Leave a comment

Along with 30 other climate action groups around the country, on March 27 the Moreland Climate Group held a protest outside Kelvin Thomson’s office. We wanted to highlight the problems with the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, such as:

1. low emissions reduction targets

2. free permits for polluters

3. unlimited ability for polluters to outsource emissions cuts to developing countries

4. making emissions reduction cuts by individuals and households redundant.

Our intention was to deliver 19 black balloons to Kelvin Thomson – when we found the shutters closed instead we filled up the alcove with balloons.

Thanks to Andrea Raffell for photographs.
