Every month we’ll be getting to know a new CAMer and putting them through their paces with our 20 Questions.
This month we ask CAM’s video producer, online magazine editor and op shop lover –Andrew , the hard questions.

The ocean, summertime, responsible and active people, fair trade, live music, inspirational and informative Youtube, people who speak another language than me.
2 Dislikes
The way both major parties treat refugees, cold hands and feet, waste, fossil fuels, heartbreak.
3 What do you do?
I am the editor of the Vagabond Online, which involves promoting ethical choices through articles, videos and the website. MAKE CHOICES YOU CAN FEEL GOOD ABOUT! www.vagmag.org I also run a range of youth development programs through the YMCA.
4 What do you like about Moreland?
CLIMATE ACTION MORELAND!!, Sydney Road, the cultural diversity.
5 What’s your background?
I’ve spent over 5 years working and volunteering abroad, which included running a primary school English department/library in the Maldives, 4 seasons on the crew of ‘Survivor’ building and testing challenges, and volunteering with a human rights group in the Philippines focused on child rights.
6 What’s your biggest fear about Climate Change?
That we won’t act, this is such an amazing opportunity in which we could change the world for the better… if we do what is needed..
7 What action would you like to see happen on Climate Change?
A fast switch to renewable energy. A value for our environment the same way we value money. More informed and responsible people who make better choices in their own lives and hold their government’s to account.
8 Funniest CAM story?
Watching Merryn (who is a doctor, and who I thought at the time was a shy and respectable lady) jump the fence at the ‘Switch Off Hazelwood’ protest last year and frantically run (with another CAM’er, Mark), hands flailing, towards the power station, until met by police, when they decided to calmly followed instructions.
9 What have you done to live a more sustainable life?
Became a vegetarian, attempted a veggie patch (working progress), no car, public transport and bike ridding, switched to green power, op-shop lover.
10 What do you like about CAM?
The people – amazing group of intelligent and likable people, all involved in such different things, all inspiring, driven, humorous and approachable with the shared desire for a better way of doing things.
11 If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
Probably start by enthusiastically singing the “If I had a million dollars” song. Then, ethically invest.. donate to active groups and campaigns that are doing great things.. start a Fair Trade marketing project in Melbourne to help Fairtrade products become more accessible and popular in mainstream shopping.
12 If you were the leader of the world what’s the first thing you’d do?
Eradicate debt and boarders, and share resources in a fair and sustainable way.
13 What song would you like played at your funeral?
‘Nothing’s gonna change my world’ (The Fiona Apple version)… I don’t know why, I have loved it since I was an young teen.
14 Which dead person would you most like to have a drink with?
Che Guevara I think.
15 If a movie was made of your life who would you like to play you?
That will never happen!
16 Red or Blue?
Both nice.
17 What keeps you awake at night?
Planning, getting excited about things on the horizon.
18 What’s are you reading at the moment?
Ashamed to say it but mainly facebook and facebok links at the moment.. I know.
19 Where is your favourite place to eat.
Lentil at the convent… AND the Red Pepper on Bourke (near Spring) for $5 dhall with nan, cheapy-yum!
20 What’s your favourite drink?
Cold water in the summer time.
