Snap Action: #StopAdani Saturday 8 December

The fight to stop Adani’s coal mine is at a critical turning point.
The coal corporation has announced that they are self financing the project, and want to start digging coal before Christmas. By Adani saying that they have the money to start work immediately, it looks like they are trying to pressure the government to wrap up the approvals process before the next federal election.
Which means we need to put pressure on our politicians to act now.
Where: State Library, Melbourne
When: Saturday 8 December 10.30am
Right now, Adani is trying to bully the Queensland government into approving their water plan, Labor is staying on the fence and putting our future at risk, and an out-of-touch government is attacking school kids who are getting active and participating in democracy.
Only a huge demonstration of public pressure can force our politicians to #StopAdani before it’s too late.
Messages from COP24 in Poland
Want to be inspired? Listen to an excerpt of 15 year old Greta Thundberg at COP24 in Poland:
Read David Attenborough speech to the UN Climate Change Conference in Poland on December 3.
“Right now, we are facing a man-made disaster of global scale. Our greatest threat in thousands of years. Climate Change.
If we don’t take action the collapse of our civilisations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon.
Leaders of the world, you must lead.
The continuation of our civilisations and the natural world upon which we depend, is in your hands.
